Try setting it to 720p. I just bought the same TV and have the exact same problem, the HDMI port just doesn't work with the xbox360. Component works fine though. I'd assume theres just some compatibility issue with the 360s and it, I tried using a premium 360 with an hdmi that a friend had and his wouldn't work either. This was with the elite's included hdmi cable, I don't think that would matter though. 480p 720p 1080i made no difference setting on the elite.

I haven't tried updating the firmware, but I haven't gotten around to registering on the olevia site to see if there are any firmware updates anyway. Aside from using it with the 360, has anyone tried using the HDMI port with any other device with any luck? I've got nothing to test it with as of yet. Here's a link to a forum that specializes in A/V issues, there is a place to buy the firmware upgrade. The forum link is the name of the company that bought olevia is Emerson Radio. There is a company, Emergence Technology Support Team at 866-965-3842, they will sell you the firmware for $25. There are a few people that dowloaded this and had some problems with their sets after, so beware. If you are havning no problems, let it be. If you download, try to make a copy of the existing firmware first, so you can re-install it if things go south.

Also, some folks on that forum (and probably other forums as well) have offered to email copies of their downloads, so you may be able to score a free copy somewhere. Posted on Nov 07, 2009.
