While I wanted to start another game that had GfWL still in it, I got the same problems. And someone tipped me off (don't know who it was anymore, so no credit for that person:( ) about a little file on the Bulletstorm PC Gaming Wiki. It's a dll and an ini that basically trick the game into thinking that GfWL is running. The only downside is, that all online functionalities are not available.
